Accessibility statement

At Hotel Etico access and inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.  This is not only from a physical perspective but from a holistic point of view.  The hotel exists to provide a work, training, and live-in program for people with disabilities.   Inclusion and accessibility is therefore at the forefront of our minds.  We want all our guests, whatever their individual needs, to be able to enjoy our beautiful heritage hotel that lives and breathes inclusion and diversity. We are constantly working to improve accessibility for all guests and appreciate feedback on where we can improve.

Our Staff

All staff are trained and experienced in accessibility and in providing an inclusive and welcoming experience to guests of all abilities.  We conduct training for the tourism and hospitality industry in disability etiquette and disability confidence, so we are always developing our thinking and practices towards greater inclusion and accessibility.  You will not find a hotel anywhere in Australia that has the same level of skills and expertise amongst staff in terms of inclusion and accessibility.

Our accessible entrance is located on the left hand side of the hotel.  Please contact the hotel on 0438511352 before arrival to ensure we can cater for your needs upon arrival.

Accessible room

Hotel Etico has one room with features to make it more accessible, room 210.  The room is located on the ground floor of the hotel with full access to the restaurant, bar and beer garden.  Accessible features and images of this room are featured below.

  • Bedside lights with USB port in one switch

  • Sliding barn door for access (door width 745mm).
  • No threshold to enter the bathroom.
  • Grab rail next to the toilet.
  • Adjustable height shower head.
  • Shower seat.
  • Spacious roll in shower (1210mm deep by 900mm wide)
  • Accessible towel hook next to shower (1385mm high)

Public Bathrooms

Our public bathrooms are accessible by wheelchair.  They have an accessible bathroom with sufficient room for a wheelchair and a grab rail next to toilet

Restaurant, Bar and Beer Garden

Our restaurant, bar and beer garden are all located on the ground floor of the hotel and are accessible by wheelchair.

Reception

Our reception features an accessible reception desk 780mm high and 1400mm wide.
